Site brutally slow 7/2016

The past week or so this site has become brutally slow. I'm not sure if it is the current ad mix or some post-security-problem thing? I'm not that fast of a type-er and I'm having to go letter by letter with waiting and re-typing. Very painful!!!

Anyone else? I'm having no issues with other sites.

Thoughts?

I haven't had any issues with the site in the past few days.

I've noticed that there's a lot of advertisement videos playing in the top right corner, almost makes the entire browser crash.

The site has nothing to do with your typing. It shows you the content then just sits there waiting for your device's (PC, mobile, whatever) next response. If you are seeing delays in typing, you've got issues on your side. Try another browser, another device, rebooting the device, etc.

hey all,

If the site is running extremely slow, jogging of typing, etc. etc. there is a few things you can do to fix things up for yourself. For me, I open many many forums, with ad's, no ad blocker, and through firefox and everything runs smoothly.

first off, update your java, flash, disable shockwave, do a cache and cookie clear just to start off.

next up, do a deep malware clean, along with a virus check up. once you have done that, you can also add to the list doing a disk clean up. this is the backend of your computer where temporary files are kept and stored. this also stores sometimes internet data and malware likes to live there sometimes.

do a video card update on your drivers along with any further updates to your browser. big deep clean.

this should help with everyones issues here. let me know if you need anything else.

I don't think that is the problem as this happens at home on the desk top, at work on the desk top there and on my laptop. Not to mention my iPad. There is definitely something wrong.

I seem to remember a previous thread where the ad servers in Canada were slowing everything down.

While it is impossible to diagnose the OP's problem from the information provided, the suggestions from @Administrator are nothing more than a shotgun approach focused on "the problem is with you." I'm surprised he forgot to suggest a clean install of the OS.

Hi guys,

The creative team is working on trying to find a way to make this skin run much smoother and faster. In regards to the ads that you are seeing on your mobile device, can you please take a screenshot of the ad so that we can take it to our ad team to look into further.

Thanks,
Sheena

This site is the SLOWEST forum I have ever visited. Beyond bad. It's basically unusable on Chrome, both on Windows and MacOS. On mobile Chrome on iOS - it does not even work, really.

I just tried Safari, and it seems quite a bit better.

One trick that Shane helped me with a few years back was to login. I often visit from different computers and didn't always log in. The amount of ads and the level of annoying-ness is greatly increased if you do not log in.

This site has always been excruciatingly slow for me. It always hangs right at the end of each page load for the longest time. The best is when you're sure the page has loaded, so you click on a thread you want to read, nothing happens, then 10 seconds later the page jumps as it completes its load and then what you thought was a thread you clicked on was actually an ad at the top of the screen. Happens logged in or not, and on all my devices. I just got used to it.

Here to assist with slow down issues.

Can you guys start by clearing out cookies and cache so we can test from a clean slate? Next I'd like to confirm if everyone is using Chrome (that was the only one so far mentioned) or if there are other browsers in play here
