Cars stalls after hard driving

At track event, also has happened on street. After running car hard coming to stop at a light (or today off track) car flutters a little below 1000rpm then just shuts off. Does not do it every time. On restart does fine. Any ideas

You have an exige S right? They all seem to do that. You can have the throttle minimum increased in the programming, or try to find the possible very small vacuum leak.

2007 Exige S with almost every track mod...

Yep, a known PITA problem. I managed to get mine better by installing multispark coils. They are not cheap.

As Kevin said, you can have the idle increased, this helps, too.

Thank you for the input. Little glad to hear it’s a common issue. I checked all vacuum lines all look good. I’ll look into both your suggestions. BOE is doing a tune for me so that may be a fix.

You can also give it some gas to keep it from stalling, though you have to catch it in time for this to work. Happened to my Exige S as well and wasn't always after hard driving, sometimes it just had a hard time keeping idle.

I have a BOE tune and it can still do it. Their solution is to increase the idle RPM so it stays out of the RPM hunting mode. They will most likely set it around 1100-1200 RPM.

I have gotten OBD codes occasionally for high idle. When idle settles at sub 1K I get no code.

Mine idles at 1100-1200 all day long with no codes. What code do you get?

It could have been P0507. Haven’t had it in awhile. Just erased code and see what happened.
