Well then there you have it. If the problem travels with the TB, then you have your culprit.

That's why I bought a new throttle from Toyota.

But after installed the new throttle, the car has similar behaviour but in better way:

1. The idle will drop from whatever to 1200-1500 quick as normal. Then slowly drop to 900-1000. But at around 1100, I can see the A/F meter go up from 14.X to 13.X then back to 14.7. With that 13.X the idle will goes up a little then back down to normal.

2. If the car is not rolling, the idle will drop to 900-1000 slowly, and act the same as above (But at around 1100, I can see the A/F meter go up from 14.X to 13.X then back to 14.7. With that 13.X the idle will goes up a little then back down to normal).

3. If the car is rolling (no clutch, no gas padel), the idle will not drop below 1100. Just continue hold at around 1100.

4. If the car is roll to stop at red night with no clutch, the idle will drop slowly without that bump.

5. In first gear without gas, release the clutch slowly, the car will roll by itself and maintain at around 1100, no stall, keep on going by itself. I can see the A/F meter will go up to 8.X to maintain not to stall and back to 16.X, then cycle again. The car roll quite smoothly, LOL.

6. Same as in second gear.

Any idea?

Dropped the car to HK dealer, the followings are what they have done:

1. Run Lotus Techcenter to view live data:
- MAF is OK,
- Throttle Position vs Padel Position (by compare the date with other normal Exige), the result is normal,
- Other sensor's data is normal.

2. Re-connect all the vacuum lines,

3. Re-connect the 2 vent hoses from head cover to throttle ( try to check is there any leak from engine head cover to oil catch can to throttle ), result is normal.

4. Checked whatever electric wiring and plug, there are all normal.

5. Replaced battery, is normal.

6. Install a new dealer throttle, same same. Call UK, and the result is after throttle change, no need to re-set ECU.

7. Checked Lotus TRD airbox, normal

Can't find anything.... Help.

Now dealer will move on to check the intercooler......

Help......

Latest info, but it is very ??????:

1. Replaced a brand new air box, but forgot to tighten the airbox side throttle hose clip. Start the car, the idle drops OK, Idle RPM is 600-700, but not smooth when step on gas initially. ????

2. Use my old airbox, if doesn't tighten the clip, the car runs like the above. ????

3. If tighten that clip, then the car has high slow drop idle !!!

4. According to UK, it may have leak after the throttle body But UK need more sensor reading.

Anyone?

Why the loose clip will cause the idle to drop normal? Is it because the MAF reading is out from O2 sensor's reading?

After over a week body check from HK dealer, and back & fore ECU log data with UK.

Dealer told me that UK mentioned the problem may be somewhere between the throttle body and the head.

Has scheduled another body check in 4 weeks.

Did you ever solve this?

I have a similar issue but mine is much worse. It idles at 2000 rpm and eventually drops down to ~1300-1400 after 15-20 seconds.

It runs great other than that. AFRs (as measured with a wideband) are rock solid in open loop. When in closed loop at idle it runs VERY lean, even at 2000 rpm (19.5:1 or higher). What's weird is when it's at speed in closed loop on the freeway the AFR is dead on at 14.7.

I'm a bit confused with my car since the symptoms don't really point to one component.

Have been in HK Lotus Dealer for another 2 weeks.
- Sent multi data logs to UK Lotus, Nothing is wrong with ECU
- Changed so many parts..... even injectors... no luck
- Checked the intake path all the way to head, A OK, no leak
- Checked all the wires, no luck
- Removed all the mods, back to S260, no luck

As far as UK mentions, there is last puff of air in the intake path that causes this. ??????
Where does it come from?

Will spray some cleaning fulid at the injectors, intake path myself to see what happen.

Very frustrating, hang in there. It is always darkest before the dawn. Maybe you'll have some luck soon on this issue.

Haha, I don't think so.

I have took off and re-installed the throttle body over 10 rounds.

Dealer has exchanged so many sensors, parts and no luck.

Has the dealer tried replacing the intake manifold gasket (between the intake manifold and the head)? That was the source of an intake air leak on my S240.

Check bolts on s/c and swan neck it really sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere. I uninstalled and reinstalled my entire vf and found multiple loose bolts as well as cracked insulatores at injector base. Now perfect idle all the time. Also check or replace o ring on maf.

It would "hang" sometimes, but not always, and it would stall occasionally. I also got an occasional "lean bank 1" CEL during light throttle cruise.

Mine is still doing this. Except the idle hangs at 3200 rpm now. Give it 15 seconds or so and it will drop down to about 1400 rpm.

The weird thing is it runs great pretty much under all conditions when moving... AFR is spot on on the freeway, power is good, no CEL, etc.

I'm wondering if it's the throttle pedal assembly on my car. It has no CEL and nothing stored on the ECU so it's fairly difficult to troubleshoot. I've just been living with it... sounds like I'm going to launch the car at every stoplight though

I have the exact same thing in my Evora S and now i'm just used to it. It doesn't do it all the times but it happens at least once a month.

Terrible Terrible Terrible.

No one seems to know what is going on.

I changed all the injectors' upper and lower o rings, leak test head gasket...... no finding.

So next will change the paddle assembly as suggested by Mr. Chapman in UK Dealer.
