Question on SSC shift cable length

I've got the cables out of the car and about to install the SSC cables but I see a problem. At the transmission end, the SSC shift cable can't retract as far into the cable sheath as the stock cable. In the attached picture both cables are pulled as far into the sheath as they will go and the SSC rod end is screwed as far into the cable as possible. It's still 1/4 inch further out than the stock cable.

For the folks who've got SSC cables, did you see this too? If you installed them anyway, did you find any issues?

Also, the SSC ball joint eyelet is significantly thicker than the stock part. Did you have any issues with getting the r-pin back into the shift lever?

I never had any problem. I dont think you ever retract the cables nearly that much in use.

Great! Any issues with getting the R-clip in? The eyelet on the ball joint is much thicker than the stock cable end.

I put the r-clips in, not clearance issues
