2007 Lotus Elise passenger weight limit?

Hmm, how do I explain this one... A buddy I went to college has wanted to take a ride in the Elise, however, he's a bit on the heavy side. He weighs around 300 LBS. With me driving, and I am at 180 LBS., can the car support him too?

I don't think that would be a problem. I routinely drive with friends who weigh over 230 and I am about 185, so you are only talking about an extra 65 or so pounds. You might want to try sitting in the car first to see if you can reach all the controls safely. Some of my friends have wide shoulders and definitely encroach on my side of the car. I do prefer riding with girls, less weight, no shoulder touching and they are usually pretty excited about the car.

I took a 300 + friend around Willow Springs big track. No problem except for a huge impact on handling. Almost went off track on Nine!

The problem begins when it's time for him to get out.

All kidding aside- does anyone know what the max weight of the driver and passenger should be? 315-480 is what the posts prior have mentioned...?

For the Elise, the maximum combined weight of the driver and passenger is 441lb (200kg).

There should be an information label on the bottom of the rear hatch with this info on it.

FIL: Have you ever heard of a threesome? I know its her sister, but they are Swedish. That $hit is totally accepted over there.

You tend to scrape the front bumper more often. Get the car out of the driveway before he gets in.

I can't imagine being able to exceed the weight limit... Simply because to do so would require someone that most likely won't fit in the car to begin with.

I guessed as long as both of you can get in and out. I am 220lb and my good buddy used to weight about 300lb. He cannot get in the passenger side so I let him drive. Between both of us, it like like 500 and some change. No problem. As a matter of fact , the car seems to handle better and going through bumps better.

I've taken heavy passengers on rides around tracks and the handling/braking is definitely affected. You have to be especially careful with braking points as you have to brake a good 10-20% earlier than you would normally.

I have a friend I give rides to, he's close to 300lbs. The car can take it. But when the time comes to get out of the car, he almost falls out of the car. One day he's gonna break somehting (either a bone or some part of the car...).

I'm 200 lbs and I'm not fat. I just barely fit between the seat's side bolsters. How does that work for a 300 pounder?

i think you need to be a little more specific? are you asking the weight limit before the car bottoms out or the weight limit before you start sacraficing speed and handling?
