Anybody using this for your phone holder?

https://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=855407

https://www.brodit.com/product.html?...=Galaxy+Note+8

Note that both parts are needed. The Pro Clip fits between the air vents, and the other part holds the phone and fits the Pro Clip.

Thanks,

Nice find.

I have the ProClip setup in my Jeep (with my Galaxy Note 8...so exact phone-mount linked above). It's awesome.

I looked at ProClip's site and they don't list a mount for the Lotus (for *any* Lotus, actually) so, this is great. I've ordered the pair.

Your car is a 2011. The Pro Clip that's available to purchase on that website lists 2012 and newer. Are you sure it will fit your car? I haven't ordered because of that concern.

I'm not sure, but I think it's worth trying.

The 2012's are S3's and the US-spec 2011's are the only S3's in the US (other than the not-street-legal track cars that some have).

When it arrives, I'll try it, post my findings, and post pics.

BLUF - Works Great!

For the record, I have a 2011 Elise (S3). Will it fit an '05 S2? I don't know. It comes on and off easy enough that if anyone wants to stop by my house, we can try it.

Thanks for the update! I'm trying to place the order for the Pro Clip, and the holder for my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
After selecting the parts from the drop down menu, I don't see a way to pay for the items. How did you do it?

I can't remember how I found it but, I ordered it from Amazon...

The mount...

The Note 8 Holder...

However, I'm not in love with the holder itself. I have a Proclip adjustable Note 8 holder, and it fits my phone better (I have a small case on mine). The Brodit Note 8 holder (linked above) is clearly made for the naked phone...and isn't adjustable.

So, I ordered a second ProClip phone holder directly from ProClipUSA...

The Lotus-specific mount however, is spot-on. Hope this helps.

Do you have access to a 3D printer? I printed this up and bought a part from Amazon to screw onto it. I have an 05 Elise. The printed part (after painting it flat black) looks like part of the dash as it sits flush.

printed part:

part from Amazon ($6.99):

1971 Europa S2 (owned but two months; flipped to raise funds to fill gap in college tuition)

2005 Elise (magnetic blue), starshield, chin guards, Penske nonajustable shocks (BWR), Mishimoto sandwich plate, AEM oil temp and pressure gauges, third brake light flasher, Larini Group B silencer, Sector 111 DSBrace

Habious,

Great info! I also have a case on my Note 8, so I'll get the holder from Pro Clip as well.
Thanks,

Edit: just noticed on Amazon that the Pro Clip is shipped from somewhere outside the US and will not arrive until between July 24 and Sep 8.
Did it take that long for you?

I ordered it on May 31. It arrived yesterday (June 17). And yes, shipped from outside the US (UK, I think), via DHL.

Did it fit? Where did you order it from, can't find it on Amazon or anywhere else. Can't figure out how to order it direct either.... no "buy" button on the Swedish site.

I got an online quote from xometry.com, between $25-$30 for FDM. I was rather surprised at the low cost, figured it would be at least $100. Things have changed a lot in the rapid prototyping world since my time 7 years ago as a product designer.

Couldn't find the material you used... not in their list. Any suggestions on a "common" FDM material?

On Post #6, I've posted pics of it both by itself, and installed in the car. Fits great.

On Post #8, I provided the links to Amazon.com to order the car mount (and the phone mount).
