Check Engine Light
Had checked the code but wanted to confirm with my son that it was PO601 which, I understand from googling the code meaning, normally infers problems with the ECU. So, looks like the O2 sensors are not involved.
We had cancelled the "check engine light" message and ran the car briefly tonight without the message coming back. He will drive the car to work tomorrow (total 50 km or 30 miles) to see what happens. Thinking back, we had the Elise at a car show on Sunday and there was some trouble starting which related to the battery ground shut-off switch being slightly loose. Light came on when the car was started the second time at the in-laws after supper.
So, we'll keep our fingers crossed that the ECU got a little upset with low voltage to it at start-up maybe? Battery voltage with engine off was 13.3. Attached a Battery Tender and it started to get up to charge quite quickly. Battery is only one year old.
Any experiences or comments?
Thanks for suggesting I look into it further with a scanner.
