Fire Extuinguisher ...

My car comes with a fire extuinguisher, provided by Lotus, but it's too wide to fit in the passenger footwell. Any ideas where Lotus would expect you to fir this, or is it just a token effort that sits in the boot with the safety triangle and first aid kit?

Most are fixed infront of the passenger seat on the corrugated foot plate.

Lest anyone is interested, the GCC (Gulf Cooperative Council) Traffic Law requires that all passenger vehicles carry a 2kg powder fire extuinguisher; Lotus provides such as part of their regional homologogogoglation, and that's what I have, and it's too big to fit anywhere inside the car. But Oman doesn;t enforce these GCC rules, so I can buy a smaller one if I wish.

So now you know!

I have one fitted to the rear bulkhead behind the passenger seat but it's smaller than a 2 Kg unit. Fits nicely though and I got it from Griot's Garage.

Sounds like it is provided for licensing purposes only - I can't imagine any way of usefully fitting a 2kg hand held DCP extinguisher in the cabin.
