Foul smelling greasy stuff in washer reservoir?

I went to check the level of my windshield washer reservoir for the first time since I bought the car - There were tan colored, greasy, kerosene smelling globs floating around in there! I never experienced any streaking when squirting the windshield, but there was so much of it in there! I took out the reservoir and flushed it with warm water and dish soap. Still had a thick film of the stuff deposited all over the inside of the tank! Any ideas what it could be and how do I get rid of it? Is there any type of anti freezing additive that people put in there? I live in Hawaii, so it would be completely idiotic to use it in the first place.

Bizarre!

It sounds like you have the symptoms of an upper decker.

Something that's really good at killing grease should take care of it. Throw some Tide in there and slosh it around with some water. Let it stand in the tank overnight. That will do it. ...And you'll no longer be the butt of upper decker jokes.

Hilarious. I can't stop laughing. The secretaries are pointing at me as I sit in my office giggling to myself.

///MD - First, I agree on just washing it with something like Tide. Second, what color is your Lotus. I've seen a yellow/silver stipped Elise cruising around lately...

I thought that might be you... You didn't see any eggplants for two reasons... 1) the Lotus has been torn apart for like 2 months now and 2) I was in my FD when I saw you at the "opening" of the track and the other time I saw you, I was in the Evo. It's kinda hard to keep up with which car/truck I might be in! lol I'll say hello one of these days when we both aren't driving.
