How do you mount your radar detector?

I use a Blendmount in my truck, solid grip on the stalk of the rearview mirror. They don't make one for the Elise, the stalk is too short/non-existent.
The OEM suction cups on the Valentine 1 are not reliable, drop off the windshield from time to time. So I got this metar bar that is screwed into the metal bracket of the V1, and attach the bar to the windshield with 3M tape. So far it's holding, but it's only been a couple days. I don't have confidence that this will last long, because the bar doesn't curve like the windshield. I'd like to find out how others mount their radar detector.
Thanks,

Ahhh that is my winter project. I plan on routing wires to the front of my dash and mounting between the windshield and dash. Im putting the radar detector right in the middle. Rather than using suction cups which take up so much room. The other problem getting power to it which is why i am basically installing mine above the dash. My mute switch will be right next to the Air con controls.

I have an escort Max 360C and mount it low. Yes, I know that most recommends say to mount as high on the windscreen as possible but....................on a car 3' 10" off the ground, there really is no high spot, relatively speaking.

I ran hard wire across the bottom of the windscreen, then can out from below the passenger side air vent. Tapped to a switched wire under passenger side dash for power when ignition key is on. Did similar for dash cam (that is mounted high) but ran wire across top of windscreen, down a pillar, under the rocker cover back to the firewall. From there, tapped into behind always hot feed to cigarette lighter.

Suction cup. Make sure you use alcohol wipes on windscreen and mount before suction. It will stay on much longer
