How to re-install Sun Visor on Elise

Hello All,

I have a 2007 SC (Chrome Orange - yeah baby!) and when I bought it the sun visors were in the boot. During my daily drive, I head straight into a low-lying sun which is really a B. Traffic will slow or stop because everyone is blinded and I have to hold up a hand to block the sun...which changes position as the road curves.

I'd like to re-install the sun visor on the driver's side and I've purchased a clip-on visor extension because the wee little visor won't do the job anyway.

For some reason, I can't get the visor reinstalled and I can't find any posts talking about this...plenty about removing the visor. It seems the post, whcih appears to be covered with some sort of plastic, is slightly larger than the hole in the visor into which it is supposed to slide. I've even tried tapping it with a hammer, but no dice. I wonder if the visors I have are maybe not even the right ones for this car, but not sure how to tell.

Can anyone offer any advice/help?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

It just slides directly on with medium force.

It sounds like someone used some heat to shrink some tubing over the silver metal thing. Just cut it off until you see silver metal. Then slide the visor on. Easy. Good luck.

That was it. Had to use the dremel to cut it off, but voila! Thanks.
