Let's play: What's This Clam Worth!

After my little skunk incident, I am in possession of this Ardent Red front clam from my 2005 Elise. I have a brand new factory clam here and it's being painted and installed in the next couple weeks, so I do not need to source a new one out. (Thank you State Farm!) I have a "WTB" ad for a wrecked clam on the forum, hoping to find someone who has just that lower front section that is wrecked on mine. The idea being to repair that section and offer the newly repaired clam here for anyone who needs a repaired and ready to paint part. Trouble is finding a trashed clam that has that area in good condition yet.

My question is....what is it worth as it sits now? I presume the repair time and money will pay off, but then again it's a lot of time and work. Everything else about it is perfect...the paint is in great condition and it has factory Star Shield. Just curious...

Unless you want to learn how to do the repair and count that as value, don't value your time highly, or have inside help with painting or glasswork, I doubt it would pay off to resell the finished clamshell. I've bought clams in better shape for $600, but you could get as much as $650 for the clam assuming the rest is in good shape.

Definitely save every last piece, because that's the first question I would ask as a buyer.

Just my $.02

I paid more for a more for a more damaged clam, and I was still under $2500 including the repairs. This should cost like 500-1k to repair the fiberglass.
Gotta have a good fiberglass guy near you though, ask the vette guys, they know
