New tires any break in needed?

This is my first new set of tires for my Elise and I wanna do it right, car is mostly agressive street driven but i am doing a track day Sept 2nd at Mid Ohio.Just got new Toyo R888 should i just put em on and drive like I always do or should I be doing something else?

Tire rack (tirerack.com) has some general guidelines for breaking in new tires. Various tire compounds probably vary a little.

Toyos are R compounds. Drive highway speeds 20 min then let them sit 24-48 hours. You should be fine with that.

Yep, bring them up to temp as best you can on the street then let them sit. I'm at 11k on my R888 rears. Going to try pushing 12k but that's probably the max I'll see out of them.

Mid ohio on the 2nd eh!? Maybe ill come out there with ya!? Is it an open track day and how much, never did car track days (used to motorcycle track days). Well it would be cool to have to elises!

Have heard R888's work great on the track and have seen several people use them. My wife runs them on her Elise in autocross. I used to but started to outgrow/slide them. On A6's now. Really love them on the track, heat them up, hot track and they stick like a warm piece of super bubble.
