OBD no link

I can't get an OBD reader to work. Keep getting "no link" message. Ive read that on some cars (various makes) the "k" wire on the radio can affect the scanner? any thoughts? 2005 elise, Vision Function supercharger. Blaupunct mp54 radio.

Your OBDII scanner might not be CAN Bus compatible. The Elise/Exige OBDII system runs on a CAN bus not all cars do so not all scan tools have the capabily to keep the costs down.

06 Polar Blue Elise. Touring pack black leather interior, Race View mirrors, micro mirror, alarm antenna mod, bootie, BOE QS Exhaust, improved stereo, and BOE REV400 supercharger.

I have a 2005 Elise and have not had any ODB II readers fail. Old school unit, Bluetooth and USB cable all work as expected. My favorite is the Bluetooth with App on Android phone (3 different apps all worked).

i am quite confident that the 2005 car does not use CAN for obd. instead, i expect that it uses the k-line protocol iso 9141. it is commonly reported that some obd readers have trouble connecting with the elise. I'm not familiar with the type of bluetooth reader that others use, but i prefer a usb vag com cable.
