P0111 intake air temp error post supercharger install

Ok Hive Mind

After some spirited street driving with my supercharger installed the check engine light came on. I pulled the code and came up with P0111 - intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit range/performance, severity 2 of 3. I cleared the code, but it returned after I restarted. I don't see much on the forums about this error. Any suggestions on solutions? What I should be checking or replacing?

Thanks
Chris

So it looks like it wasn't as dire as I thought. I got some SensorKleen and pulled out the MAF. There was definitely some dirt on the sensor so I cleaned it and cleared the codes. I went for a drive and, fingers crossed, the check engine light is gone. I think this can be traced to some driving I did on very dusty roads last weekend, followed by some fast driving I did the next. I think I just pulled a lot of dust through the filter. Next is pulling the air filter to give it a good clean.

I believe you have a BOE REV kit on the car. In that case, the IAT is not in the MAF. It's in the manifold. There's no way dust would have fouled it in the first place...

I've never seen that code unless there's a hardware issue. Ever. I've not even seen the IAT sensor fail to cause that codes. The very few times I've seen it was due to installation error.

Hope that helps,

Phil
