Pre purchase inspection in VA

Hey guys/gals,

I posted this in the regional section but didn't get a response, so lets try a bigger audience. I am looking at an 05 Elise near Virginia Beach. Owner has recommended to check out Euro Classics near Richmond for the PPI. Any other suggestions? It is a low mile car so I am not super worried about an ECU dump, but rather the common issue points.

Thanks much in advance.

The ECU dumps are horribly unreliable anyways, so I wouldn't put much stock in them. See if you can reach out to lowtush since he knows that area well. You want someone very familiar with Lotus though. Even a good mechanic who is unfamiliar can miss a lot of modifications and tweaks if they don't know what is standard or came on different trim packages.

I am not sure about VA Beach but in Richmond Euroclassics was a dealer and they are good. 3 others that have worked on mine or friends cars in Richmond are Sports car workshop ask for Roy, Flim Flam and Elliot Tire.

Thanks guys, I reached out to Euro Classics and Sports car workshop and am gonna try to book something with Euro Classics. They are a little more pricey but there is some piece of mind knowing that they use to be a dealer and I will request a tech that was around back then.

Sports Car Workshop said that they would do an inspection, but I got the vibe that it was not something they are use to inspecting. Roy seemed like a nice and honest guy though.
