real world weights of UK S1 and S2 Elise

HI All,
Below posted from the always helpful SELOC board:

<<<Rolling road weight results

From November last year.

As chief weigher and holder of the results, I've compiled results for the
8 cars that went on the scales on Saturday.

Each car was weighed and the fuel gauge was read. In an attempt to level
the playing field, I have attempted to calulate the "empty" weight of each
car by subtracting the weight of the fuel in the car. My research has
come up with a weight of 0.72kg per litre of fuel and I've measured
everything to the nearest kg. Obviously, the Elise's fuel gauge is
notoriously inaccurate but I thought it was the best way of doing it.

Name: Bogie
Car: Elise S2 Type 72
Measured weight: 773kg @ 25l
EMPTY WEIGHT: 755kg

Name: Colin Ziepe
Car: VX220 (with hardtop)
Measured weight: 884kg @ 30l
EMPTY WEIGHT: 862kg

EMPTY WEIGHT: 766kg

Measured weight: 748kg @ 35.5l (reading full, estimated from distance travelled)
EMPTY WEIGHT: 722kg

Garage
And for those that don't speak metric , here are some of the figures in U.S. pounds and gallons:

1) Name: Kevin Moloney
Car: Elise S2 Type 25 (with hardtop)
Measured wet weight: 1,704 pounds @ 2.64 gallons

2) Name: Liam Crilly
Car: Elise S1 (1999)
Measured wet weight: 1,649 pounds @ 9.37gallons (reading full, estimated from distance travelled)

3) Name: Rob Catee
Car: Elise S2
Measured wet weight: 1,715 pounds @ 8.1 gallons

Assuming the U.S. version will be 200 to 300 pounds more than the Euro version, looks like the U.S. Elise will be around 1,900 to 2,000 pounds with fuel. That would give it a power to wet weight ration of about 10 (250lb driver not included )

Here's the link to the metric converter that I've become more aquainted with the past few weeks!
