S2 Front clam swap for new gen

Always thinking of ways to improve my 06 Elise and was wondering... is it an easy swap to put on the latest gen front clam on a S2 Elise? I know anything is possible with enough funds and a skilled body pro but curious to know if it would line up to some of the bolt holes minus the headlight and top panel/grill areas. I just think it would be really cool to rock this front clam on a 2006.

I have seen someone attempt it in the past from an actual S3 clam but never saw the project once it was completed. It looked to be quite a bit of body work. I know Greg carry's a S2 Exige conversion kit with the updated look from the 11 S2 Exiges.

Also win Ace sells a conversion kit to get the look of the S3 front ends. Hethelsport carries those (well now that I look at their page....Sherman says go talk to Greg). It says it can be made to take the old and new style headlights but probably should double check.

On Greg's page it says it has all the mounting points ready to go but I am sure there will be some slight tweaking. Good news is it looks like parts are there if you want to make the switch.

Yeah, I'd go with the WinAce front end. I've not seen his work in person other than fender flares, but he tends to have good reviews on here. I went with Greg's '11 Exige conversion, and it still takes a bit of fiddling (as is expected.

I think the headlights on the S3 really draw it out, so even if it could be made to work with the '06 headlights, half the progress would be lost. Of course just my $0.02. With the '11 Exige, it is less noticeable to keep the earlier headlights, so the project is far cheaper.

the win-ace front is based off the S3 exige front... not the S3 elise fronts i've seen. and i was looking into that front end at one point... stil debate on it at times

I'll also add the Win Ace stuff is nice. There are a few Evora owners that have used their body parts and they come out really nice looking. I have their 400 rear spoiler on my S1 Evora and the quality and fitment was spot on. It was even prewired for the 3rd brake light and came perfectly prepped for painting.

But why is that an upgrade? The S2's front in my opinion looks better...

The only appeal that front end has for me is the modernized headlight assemblies. But I agree with you. If I could get some custom DRLs integrated into my S2 headlights, I'd be happy as a clam.

Sweet. Thanks for the links, posts, and opinions. This may be a project sometime in distant future!
