#32
Downtown Lotus / Jaguar, Minneapolis MN
$1000

I'm in Omaha. It was a tossup between Fox Valley Motorcars (Chicago) & Downtown Lotus. Fox Valley wanted $2000, and their list was up to 90 people when I inquired. Downtown Lotus has a smaller allocation, but hopefully that won't matter.

90 people already. Wow. That must be getting close to selling out their allotment and we are almost a year away.

#somethingwickedthiswaycomes... the new Origin Noble M and the Origin 7

Zenos E10S for Sale! www.zenosforsale.com

There are some very shady dealers in the Lotus business.

Yeah, that's what the guy said. I figured most other dealers in large cities were around that number as well, so I was quite pleased when Downtown Lotus said I was #32. They'll ship the car down to me for under $400 which I thought was reasonable as well.

Bentley Silicon Valley update

I stopped by Bentley of Silicon Valley today after a fun drive through the hills in my MR2. First, they're not sure if they'll be getting the S2 that's being shown at the Concours at Palo Alto this weekend, but will let their deposit holders know if they do. Second, they have about 25 deposits currently, and are expecting around 75 cars in the first year. He was able to confirm my place in line - #3 (this includes a demo car for the dealer). I'm not so concerned about not having my place in line in writing after talking to them more.

Sounds like 9 or skyline... Boardwalk is only going to have the car for 3-4days then it's off to another show. So it's not too likely BoLG will get a crack at it. Seems like somebody got some free time Thanks for the update.

Actually, 17, to 1, to 84, to 35, to 9. Fun loop, and *very* little traffic today. :-)

Lucky guy, rub it in... every weekend that I have a chance, early Sunday morning will run a short loop 9/35/84. The last time was a few weeks ago with afternoon traffic. That light traffic does let you get a groove going

On the subject of waiting lists, I think you'll find that if the elise sells like hotcakes in the US (no reason why it shouldn't!) then Lotus might increase production.

Hethel is currently under 50% of it's capacity according to my dealer chum... This is partially because lotus are trying to improve quality: they are (quite rightly) a bit worried about being sued in the US if anything is wrong on the federalised car.

What are the lemon laws like (or lack thereof) in England? I've heard stories of Elises being so unreliable that they were in the shop twice a month.

My order is with Symbolic Motors of La Jolla. Was thinking of going to their BH showroom (a manager claimed I would get one sooner through them). However, I'm not in a huge rush and I'm in LJ on the weekends anyway, so I didn't.
