Garage
I did what others did and coated the windshield and removed it. Looks much cleaner without it.

Damnit...

No, no it did not bother me, at least not before this thread. Now, it looks huge to me.

It should be easy to fab up something, to replace the monstrosity. May have to noodle with this...

Haha I am sorry man. It is one of the first things I noticed when I sat in my Elise.

I think I am just going to remove it.

Has anybody made/found a cover that goes over the stud? I may chuck up a piece of material in the lathe and make one (or some). But if it exists out there, I may just buy it.

Wiper has never really bothered me, however the wiper on/off arm switch is another story, First time I went racing I turned that sucker on a few times and see it in many videos posted here

Seriously, I hate it from outside the car and I hate it from inside the car.

Is there a low profile version that doesnt stick out 5 inches off the windshield?

I may just remove it all together.

Am I weird for being bothered by this?

Is that the resting spot for it? Yours actually sits higher than does the one on my car. For mine, at the far passenger side (closest to mirror), the end of the wiper blade is resting down at that far corner of the access panel. Maybe you can try changing out the wiper head.

If you don't have a wiper like me you don't notice when you a accidentally hit the wiper stalk with your big fingers as you are getting RAD.

You have two choices....... Remove it or clock it to the 12. I removed it on my track car and use rain x, clocked it on the wife's Elise. Up to you.......

Phil from BOE posted a DIY on here but I don't have a link to it,

I was just hoping someone knew of an arm that sat closer to the body/windshield. No worries, I removed it and am going to chuck up a piece of aluminum in the lathe and turn out a little cover for the stud.
