Painting is the least durable, but the cheapest and easiest. Powder coating is probably the second most durable, second most cost effective but may have negative impacts on the structure of the aluminum if they baked it at super high temp. Dyed anodized would be the best of both worlds, but more expensive and more specialized of a process.

Powdercoating runs between $70-$100/wheel depending on the shop...

Most annodizing fades in the sun.

Everything I post is my opinion, and tends to be notoriously WRONG. Anything that is correct, can only be attributed to my being dropped on my head as a small child - repeatedly.

Most of what I know is a result of breaking something first.
