You mentioned the wipers work better than you expected. Wipers? I only got one!
Ha! Thanks for pointing that out. Just made the correction.

Don't know if you have the squeaky toy in the front, but mine sings like a canary constantly. Been told it will work itself out, but if not by first service, hopefully they can put some silicon on the bushings.
No squeak. I haven't had a lot of the problems others have had. Did I just get lucky, or is Lotus paying attention and starting to debug?

Since you're in Newport Beach, what are you talking about rain!? Actually in the Bay Area it has been raining since Saturday, and predicted to rain for another week or more! Since I'm too lazy to clean it, and Bay Area drivers are like a demolition derby in the rain I've got it benched until I see sunshine!
Believe it or not, the same storm system has Orange County in check as well and for as long. I feel your pain.

Why am I on Elisetalk when I could be driving my Elise?

Agreed; a terrific story. Thank you.

San Fran must be worth the high price -- even the car dealerships look beautiful.

Boxster Vs Elise

Hi there,

Just wondered what your impressions are of the difference between the Boxster and the Elise driving wise? I am hoping to sell my Boxster early in the spring and am probably going to put down a deposit for an Elise today.

Thanks!

Chris

I enjoyed reading your heart-felt story. It brought a tear to my eye...ok more than one tear.

The A048s rooster tail water in the rain like a speed boat. It's kinda cool.
cool for us, bad for cars behind us! I was actually thinking about this when I was driving in the rain to work. I tried to minimize my spray by keeping in line with the cars ahead.

SF beautiful?
maybe if one can look past the crazy politics!

the board of supervisors answer to the homicide spree? that's simple - ban all handguns in the City!

wheeee!!!!!!!!!!

like the murderers actually possess handguns legally; give me a break....

Wow -- only $2500 over MSRP? BMC must have captitulated to market forces. I believe about 18 months ago, they were asking $5,000.

Balance,
Congratulations! You're off to a great start with your new "love".

Your comments about SF winter weather brought a chuckle... and reminds me of SF Summers... Every summer WITHOUT fail the city is filled with tourists. We see them mid-day scurrying about in tank tops, tees & shorts. All quite comfortable in the midday sun. Then the sea breeze kicks in around 2 and by 4 the fog is rolling in and those same tourists are covered in goosebumps and buying $20 sweatshirts from the street vendors!

Thanks, Don. It was a pleasure finally meeting you in person. I know your reputation precedes you here. Nevertheless, you did an excellent job with the Stage II installation and the cutting of the diffuser. I'm glad you're my local Lotus Tech.

For those who don't know, from what I understand, Don used to be an engineer/mechanic for professional race teams including F1. Working on our cars is a walk in the park for him.

I had an interesting debate with a girl from San Francisco last week. She insisted that San Francisco was 90 and sunny in the summertime. I insisted it was always cold and the wind comes in off the ocean Furthermore, she insisted that it doesn't start raining until well after New Year's, yet here I am about to spend a rainy New Year in San Francisco

Balance, thanks for the great write up. I read portions of it to my wife, and she asked if it were written by Dave Barry!

I just spent the long weekend out in San Francisco down by Union Square. After waking up on Friday morning, our first morning there, I told my girlfriend we were off to do some sightseeing. I walked the 15 blocks to this place.

Not a single Elise anywhere

Still, she enjoyed the sightseeing trip Lots of homeless hotels north of there, though.
