Great Idea, since it is already a sticky, lets rename it...

that would do the trick....

I imagine a lot of people skip over the thread because of the name even when it comes up in a search.

I wonder if, after logon, the default page could be a blank white page with two links:

1. Uberpost

2. other forum content

2006 McLareghini Bugatterrari, Storm Titanium... installed: air horn, Scroth 4-point ASM harnesses, Sector111 halon extinguisher and mounting bracket, Von Hep exhaust and rear panel delete, Pagid brake pads, red Volks CE28n wheels, Toyo RA-1 tires, Nitron SA coilovers, Sector111 (WorksBell) quick-disconnect steering wheel kit. awaiting installation: Scroth "pull-up" lap belts, Sector111 RTD Brace, Tony's heater bypass mod, and dropped steering rack mounting plates.

Keeper,

This may be something to add: https://www.lotustalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47232

It's about the feed and return connector that rubs against the oil cooler line fittings at the sandwich plate causing coolant leaks when it finally rubs all the way through.

If you poop the cover, use plenty of lube.

Otherwise, no big deal. Just take off the cover bolts, remove the cover. Pull the plugs by grasping the end (not the wire)...pretty basic stuff. Use a socket that holds the plug end (rubber insert) and a long extension.

I am sure someone has a spec. Me, I am old school. Coat the threads with oil. Carefully start by hand (!!). Tighten until snug. Turn 1/4 turn more.

DIET!

I mean start the threading by using your hand to turn the extension. In my opinion, you can be more careful that way than starting with a wrench/ratchet.

Typically, the torque spec is marked on the plug box, but the owners manual for the Matrix motor says "13lb/ft to torque plugs" (without using anti-seize).

2005 Graphite Gray with Black Interior, Sports Package, Touring Package, Hard Top, Starshield, 6-point Schroth Harness, Fire Extinguisher, and Wiring Loom for DL-1. Otherwise bone stock -- and staying that way -- okay, okay, that's true if you ignore the Braille battery, Micro mirror, Multivex mirrors, ROTA slipstreams, RA-1s, two-piece rotors, springs, polyurethane ASB bushings, RTD brace, Sparco seat, and all the stuff I've taken out of the car...

This thread OWNS ALL.

Thank you very much for posting this up, as this is indeed an UBERTHREAD that all of us noobs should read.

I hope to own a used White Exige S by 2010, so I'm learning all the little nuances now so I can be ready for them when I get my toy. This thread will be of great help.

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you like it. Sorry I haven't had much time to keep it up to date for the past year or so. If you come across anything I should add, let me know.

Hey all, I'm Pete and I'm yet another new guy here. I'm a Lotus service rep in Birmingham, Michigan at Auto Europe, and I've got a ton of stuff to learn here. I used to be a developmental test driver in the auto industry, and now I get to teach people how to use their toys at company track days. Life is good.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone here that has contributed to the Uberpost thread; it is an enormous help for all Lotus 111-ers, present and future.

I'm not new to sports cars or Lotus forums...just signing onto LotusTalk as this forum is much more active than "PSC". I am shopping for an '05-'06 Elise and hope to join the ranks sometime this year. Thanks to the great people on this forum it's making the shopping and buying process much wiser and comforting!

Cheers,
Ryan
