Flat Tire

while driving home last night I felt something in the left rear tire. when I got home you could hear the air escaping from the tire. After inspection it was a screw that puntured the inside edge of the right rear. Can this be fixed (plugged) or would it be best to purchase a new tire (A048's)

thanks

Tread areas can be repaired, sidewalls cannot. Good tread repairs need the tire off the wheel and the speed rating is unaffected.

Make sure the inner part of the tire receives a patch, for if
you just plug the tire from the outside, integrity will have
been compromised. Done properly, the tire should be as good
as new.

My puncture was discovered on the track!

As Bill the Butcher said, "Whoopsie-Daisy!" (I spun at about 70-80mph).

After I pulled into the pits, drivers of much greater experience told me that it could be repaired with utmost confidence of durability (it was on the tread, and the local tire guy is very well-trusted). I have since done 150 more track miles on the tire, as well as plenty of street miles, and I'm confident all is well with this tire.
