Not sure if anybody is testing this out?
We haven't tested ShiftR yet - there may be issues with the post/rod transition height. I haven't yet worked out a story for testing compatibility yet unfortunately, still need to sync with Greg on that.

Which shifter is this?

That's the stock shifter on a 2006 exige, with the internals partially hidden by a piece of vinyl.

Ah. The reverse lockout removed?

Yup! There's still a resistance "hill" to get to reverse, but the collar's been disabled(via zip tie)

Thanks! Is there a thread or post about how to do this?

We'll have a step-by-step with pictures on the process as part of the install instructions for the gated shifter, but the super quick summary is - unscrew your knob, unhook the reverse cable, lift the lockout mechanism up off the rod, zip tie the cable out of the way, then remove the console & zip tie the reverse lockout lever that the cable connects to - this will keep it in the "engaged" position so you can actually shift into reverse.

You'll still have a collar on the rod for the reverse lockout mechanism(see earlier posts in this thread for what that looks like) - I dremeled that off, which would make going back much harder. For me the clean look was more important, but the gated plate will work perfectly fine with the collar in place as it's higher on the rod than the plate.

Do you have a post outlining the difference in mounting between the selection of top or bottom holes? Tried to dig through here to find it, but was unsuccessful, so sorry in advance.

The quick & dirty summary of the installation process for both versions is:

1. Remove console
2. Remove boot/reverse lockout stuff
3. Install plate & screw into retainer ring
4. Reinstall console

For holes on top, if you need to adjust the plate:
5. Loosen screws & move the plate around for adjustment, then retighten.

For holes on bottom, if you need to adjust the plate:
5. Remove console
6. Loosen the screws on the bottom & move plate around for adjustment, then retighten
7. Reinstall console

Hey everyone! Finally have an update. I'll let the images/video speak for themselves. Still in process, but progress is being made!

Just got the shifter plate from Greg! Note that this is bare aluminum, no finishing, and Greg tells me that the tool marks will be cleaned in the final version. Overall it feels really good, but it seems like the plate doesn't have as much adjustibility as the plastic version - the plate is as far forward as it'll go and you can see the rod touching the gate in first. Will need to see if that warrants an updated rev or not, as I have new linkages and it could be on account of that. Will hammer that out with Greg. In the meantime, here are some photos! Very nice. Any plans to make an aluminum piece for the ugly handbrake? I have the ShiftR from Shinoo and I use it naked so it would be great if someone can make a better looking one than OEM. I already asked Shinoo but he declined. Maybe you and Greg can team up to design something.

If not to late, please add me to list. New owner just changed to CF console so this will be sweet. Aluminum, holes on top, no logo. Thanks!

No plans as of today, but anything's possible! Doesn't the stock handbrake already have an aluminum piece on it though?

And thanks everyone! I just signed off on the latest rev, with some very minor changes so I think we'll be gearing up for full production soon. Still need to get a plate with final finish & logo, which I'm hoping will look even better than this test sample.

I meant replace the black part that the aluminum piece slides over.
