With the year 2020 being a few months away, a lotus SUV makes sense. Look at what the SUV has done to Porsche sales, if I recall approx 50% of yearly sales are suv and sedan sales, not their sports cars. Would Porsche be who they are today w/o the money they make on their SUVís? Alfa is also 50/50 (at least here in the US) with car vs suv sales. The lambo SUV also seems to sell like crazy, when I took a evora for a spin a few months back the dealer had 6 lambo suvís on their way, the sales person stated all were already sold.

Lotus needs to make money, doing that they need to sell lots of vehicles so they do not become a SAAB story (still miss my SPG and Viggen). Here in the states with ford and GM pretty much exiting the car market lotus needs to appeal to the massss. Radical and Ariel like a few other companies are exclusive car manufacturers however their staff I would bet is a fraction of what lotus is.

I do agree cars made in England have never been known to be reliable. Also feel how itís made and designed it more important then where itís made.

Also, I am not a fan of SUVís but understand many/most are... my girlfriend is considering the Alfa Stelvio Quad.....

An SUV is something like a Prius. Makes great sense but....

Surely no one reading this is here because they want a practical vehicle. Often just the opposite.

Anyone can make something complicated. It takes genius to make it simple. Einstein.

Agree, never been the most practical vehicles however one must change with time and not rely on their past. I would rather see a lotus SUV which should have a good profit margin (if they sell well), attract non typical lotus owners which can allow their cars to be made, designed and built better due to actually being a profitable company.
