Thumbs up Hottest Ride of 05!! The Elise needs your vote!

Spike TV is going to have some sort of "awards" television show featuring the cars that their viewers vote in as the best cars. Best exotic, best ride of 05, best truck etc etc.

I took a quick look at the survey and the ELISE is one of the options for "Best Ride of 05"!

Cast your vote! Vote often

It's also up for "Maximum G sportscar of 05"

Lets see if we can get the Elise featured on the first annual car awards show on January 25th.

I put a link to each of the voting pages on my "links" toolbar in internet explorer. (Click the Elise picture, wait for the "vote is cast" page, clink the link button, wait, click the Elise picture, etc.) This allowed me to vote about once every 3 seconds. I got my kid to help on my other computer, and we put in a few hundred votes in each category for the Elise. I truly hope that the extra votes counted, otherwise I just wasted my time even more than I thought I already was.

I told my kid he had to vote a few hundred times if he wanted a ride in my Elise when it comes.

Just run a program that checks if a web page has been changed. It will hit the link for voting once every 30 seconds. However, I am wondering if the site ignores mutiple votes by the same Ip address.

I don't think that works for this. The voting page seems to require you to click on the Elise picture to vote. No URL (or javascript) appears when you place your cursor over the picture. I looked at the html source for the page, and it includes hidden names, forms, posting to a SQL database, etc. If I knew how to properly read html, I could probably figure it out. But then, that would be cheating even more than manually voting repeatedly.

Now after my vote, I just use "alt left_arrow" to go back to the voting page, then click the picture again (never having moved the mouse). Voting goes pretty quickly that way (about 1 vote every 2 seconds). I put in 10 votes for each category about once every hour or so. I sure hope those extra votes count!

I think that might fall under some child labor laws. At least if you don't give him lots of rides.

From Lotus PR firm...

VOTE now.... VOTE often!!!

******************************************

Greetings,

As you know the Elise is up for two awards -- 'Ride of '05' and 'Maximum "G" Sports Car' -- in the first televised auto awards show - Autorox, on Spike TV. I've just been informed the car is slipping in the polls and needs some votes, so please vote...a lot! And tell your friends. The show is set to tape Jan 22 and air in 88,000,000 homes on Jan 25 at 9PM on Spike TV.

I got you beat

In 'links' (my browser) you sellect the link you want to follow, hit right arrow to vote, left arrow to go back, right arrow to vote again, and so on. As 'links' doesn't load graphics (by default), I can vote about five times a second

If the Elise looses, it ain't my fault

...or don't vote?

Cynical thought- don't vote and do your part to diminish demand (and increase supply?)

OK OK I'll go vote.
