Local dealer essential
I am a long term Lotus owner: elise x2, esprit and evora. Lotus is "coming back" with a new electric hypercar in the near future. Great, happy to hear it and wish them well. However, if they want to sell new road cars then they need a dealer network. I live in San Diego which has just about every sports car manufacturer represented, but now Lotus is gone. No way to expect anyone from this market to buy a new car if it had to be transported to LA to get service.
You can't blame the former dealers for dropping Lotus. They had nothing to sell now for several years. I hope they figure out a way to get new dealers to sign up, but I am a bit skeptical. I can now buy: McLaren, ferrari, lambo, bentley, maserati, porsche, bugatti (well, I can't buy that!) and Alfa, but no Lotus---Sad.
