While that does make for some strange math (77 NA Elise of which 50 were California Edition and 40 were 60th Anniversary Editions), I suspect that either the announced numbers were global numbers, or Lotus fell well short of their sales goals.

Also, while we're doing this, can we add the color counts as well...

So far in this thread...

475 Ardent Red 2005 Elise
>475 Saffron Yellow 2005 Elise
35 Polar Blue 2006 Elise
4 Persian Blue 2008 Elise SC
Yes the total may be inflated by 90 units, but it is hard to imagine only 27 Elise's produced for the in 2008, taking out the 50 U.S. California Editions. Let's obtain more clarification on this first.

As for color count, the first post now includes the 4 Persian Blue 2008 Elise SC's, and the greater than 475 Saffron Yellow 2005 Elise's. I had already added the 35 Polar Blue 2006 Elise's.

Thanks,

vincesf

I believe that the total number of 26 is correct, as Vishus_1 did a comprehensive Registry of the 2009 Exige S260.

No 2010 data? I know of 2 phantom black Elise NA with the performance value pack. Mine and another user that was selling it a few months ago here in LT. I don't have a certificate to give you accurate figures though...

302 were Chrome Orange in 2005.

244 orange with black leather

73 orange, leather, touring pack.

Interesting that it looks like 2005 was the most common year. For some reason I had remembered reading it was the rarest with about 3000 made, something like 2-4 per day built, while the newer models they were building 10+ a day.

This thread has a long way to go before it becomes a master spreadsheet of the caliber posted below for U.S. production S2000's, but it would be great to approach that level of detail someday. The first post of this thread is the first attempt at a grid with the information thus far provided. Note that "*" denotes where information is needed, while "-" denotes that the model did not exist in that year. 2005, 2006 and 2011 production figures are fairly complete; however we need much more information for 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Interesting to note in comparing the total U.S. S2000 production over 10 years found on the top chart with the total U.S. Elise /Exige production over 7 years found on the bottom chart, the Elise/Exige U.S. production will probably come in at about 1/10th of S2000 U.S.production, and 2005 Elise U.S.production may represent more than 50% of all Elise/Exige U.S. production.

Please keep the information coming in from Lotus Certificates of Provenance and Provenance Cover Letters.

I found the following Exige info while perusing the Evora Certificate of Provenance thread:

User "Walter": "According to the archives, there were 164 2008 Exige 240 cars imported to the US. This does not include the 17 blue Club Racers.
Mine is 1 of 10 in Isotope Green."

User "Exigenesis": "...number 12 of 14 2009 Exige S240s for the US market. Special mention: it's the ONLY one in Starlight Black and the only black '09 Exige (Phantom included, of which there were 4) with magnolia interior."

To help complete the U.S. Production figures, it would be very helpful if anyone has U.S. production figures as found in Lotus Certificates of Vehicle Provenance and/or Lotus Provenance Cover Letters for the years and models indicated on the first post of this thread.

Thanks again,

vincesf

Vincesf,

I think I can add a couple of corrections:

2008:
164 Exige S240
- 10 Isotope Green

[For this one, you might want to PM "Walter" and see if he can give us some more deets on the isotope green cars.]

2009:
14 Exige S240
4 Phantom Black (None with Magnolia Interior)
1 Starlight Black - Magnolia Leather

2011:
35 Elise SC

Just trying to help.

PS: When I was looking for my Elise I really wanted BRG but could never find one. My estimate was 5% of the color mix. I'll be interested to see how close the actual number is...

Vincesf,

Great work you are doing here. I've been looking for this kind of info. I just ordered one of those certificates of provenance. Looks like you already have the info you wanted on the '06's but I'll send you any additional info I might get from my certificate if you go for a more detailed database with options, colors, ect.

I shall make the changes. Andy did confirm that the 2011 Elise SC total is actually 37 and not 35 + RGB and Final Editions.

I salute your effort and am excited to see the results.

From my Cert of Provenance (2007 Elise):
"The following is based on the 2007 model year USA market Elise only. The 1st serial number was 0006 (June 2006) and the last serial number was 3144 (July 2007) but the serial number sequence is shared with all Lotus models worldwide, so for clarification the following is based on serial number sequence for the USA market 2007 model year Elise only:
Your car was the 45th out of 294 cars,
Your car was the 23rd out of 45 cars in Chrome Orange,
Your car was the 23rd out of 41 cars in Chrome Orange with black leather,
Your car was the 23rd out of 36 cars with the same colour/trim/options."

My VIN ends in 30067. I assumed, then, that my car was the 67th 2007 model off the line. It was actually the 61st off the line and the 45th exported to the US so 16 of the first 67 must have gone elsewhere. 294 Elises came to the US in 2007.

Chitwood:

Awesome, you provided some key missing information for 2007.

Much appreciated and shall update the information in both the running totals information and chart found in the 1st post of this thread.

Unless I am missing something, I believe that in 2007, a total of 45 Chrome Orange Elises were produced for the U.S. and no more.

All we now need is an Exige S total for 2007 and then 2007 is done.

Thanks again,

vincesf

Thanks to all the people who have posted, overall numbers for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2011 are complete. Individual model U.S. production numbers for 2009 and 2010 are really lacking. Specifically the following information for 2009 and 2010 are needed:

1. 2009 Elise and whether this figure includes the Purist Edition, and if possible a break down between Elise's and Purist Edition Elise's.

2. 2009 Elise SC and whether this figure will include the Jim Clark Type 25 Editions, and whether all 25 made it to the U.S.

3. 2010 Elise

4. 2010 Elise SC

5. 2010 Exige S240

Lastly, some more specific Edition information is needed to fine tune 2007 and 2008:

1. Whether the figure of 294 Elise's for 2007 includes the 50-Type 72's, and whether all 50 made it to the U.S.

2. Whether the figure of 77 Elise's for 2008 includes the 50 California Editions, and whether all 50 made it to the U.S.

3. Whether the figure of 167 Elise SC's for 2008 includes the 40- 60th Anniversary Editions, and whether all 40 made it to the U.S.

If there are any categories missing, please post.

Thanks,

vincesf

If the last serial number was 3144 in July then why is mine number 32580 in may 2007.
