New to Manual Transmissions
I am taking delivery of a new (to me) 2011 Evora NA with a manual transmission in a few days. I am new to driving manuals and given the steep price of clutch replacements on Evoras I want to prolong the clutch life as much as possible. I have a friend that has volunteered to help me, but I wanted to get this group's input on some best practices as well as some things to avoid. I have watched about a dozen youtube videos and some have some conflicting information especially when it comes to slowing to a stop (coasting in neutral vs downshifting vs downshifting + rev matching) and when stopped (keeping it in gear vs putting it in neutral). Any tips/recommendations you all have are greatly appreciated!
