Well it was worth $3 but not worth an hour of my time. I had to power through the last 20 minutes. Chris Harris has nothing to fear.
It has all the flair of a motorweek car review. OK that's rude, it's not that bad, but it did /remind/ me of motorweek.
That said, I did learn something about all 3 cars so like I said, it was worth the $3. After watching it I do feel like I have a sense of all of them, but then again I have lots of miles in both a cayman and an elise so I have a reference point and a lot of the video was reminding me of that.
I think the video could go from 3 stars to 4.5 stars if it were only 20-25 minutes and if there was more drama. Like I don't need to see them wake up and get the coffee, ok? They spent a godawful amount of time on the highway. Who cares!! We already know the cayman kills it on the highway and the elise sucks. Maybe I never bought into the premise that they were evaluating a "road trip" -- but the title sure conveys canyon carving not freeway cruising. The other major thing is it would help a lot if the sound quality were better.
The worst 2 bits of commentary for me were near the beginning.
10:00 "the alfa has much if not all of the emotional flavor that ferrari has". umm no
12:45 "the alfa is like sitting in a wallet ... that's empty ... because you just paid for this car". I'm not sure what that is supposed to convey, but it's wholly inaccurate because it costs the same as the cayman! (the car he was comparing against at the time)
