Lotus Magazine Issue 1

Recieved Issue 1, Autumn 2010 of Lotus Magazine in the mail today with a letter from Thomas Hofman, Director of Group Communications of Lotus Group. As a member of Lotus International (UK) will be recieving three issues a year with my current membership of the "New" magazine.

The "Old" magazine where Caroline Parker was the Editor is no longer being printed (save those old copies, they are priceless). Caroline has moved on to the motorsport division and we wish her well!

What does everyone think of the "New" format ?

So, Kate Moss in an androgynous photo has something to do with Lotus?

Clive would love it - 'add lightness' applies to her. Take a hot model and give her anorexia (lightness) = Kate Moss.

What's inside?

I get these from BMW for my X5. It's a lot of stuff about fashion/golf/'lifestyle' and not much to do with cars.

I like seeing concept cars. That would be cool.

Is this a fashion magazine or a car mag?

"I really started paying attention to cars was when they came out with the Nissan Z, the first body. Then I seen the Cherokees, the old square ones, and I was like, “Wow, that’s cool.” Then I seen the Isuzu jeeps and I seen the Wranglers."

As I said in TOF (and Gen. McAuliffe said long ago), "NUTS!"

For "lifestyle" I can read GQ (if I could stand it). If the name on the rag is "Lotus," I expect to see a magazine about cars ! The pretty-boy girl on this cover does not make me think of the car in my garage, or its successor.

BTW, sorry to see Caroline go, but at least she's going to be with Motorsports. I hope they'll know how to use her talents...

Best regards,
Bob
