Then I put a nozzle blower on the over fill line and it pushed the antifreeze right in. did it two or three times. Started the car two times and had to refill.

Will drive it tomorrow to see how it does.
Would be great if you can elaborate on how you did the coolant flush. Thanks.

I use a Gates Air-Lift, which does essentially the same thing and was about $100 two years ago.

It attaches to a compressor to create a vacuum in the coolant pipes and hoses. Works like a charm and takes all of the drama out of a coolant change.

There should be LT postings about it.

After we got home, I found a place on the web that advertised the concentrate so I ordered that. Later got a notice from them that the Peak Global has been discontinued and they would be happy to send me "regular" Peak. Guess I have to use the Global 50/50 premix I picked up this morning.

From some research (i.e. at Bobstheoilguy.com and a few other places) I'm led to believe that both the "regular" Peak and the new Prestone "all makes and models" contains some of the same additive that's in Dex-Cool. That is a concern because it's been known to "eat" certain types of gaskets and plastics. The advantage of the Peak Global was that it didn't have the Dex-Cool additive (and was about the only type of coolant on the market that didn't). The big problem is that you can't get a definitive answer as to which coolant has what additives, and exactly what we're supposed to be avoiding in our cars (although I avoid Dex-Cool in all my cars - although that may be a problem in the future as even "regular" old green Prestone seems to have disappeared).

Hi Tim

I saw your write up about the coolant flush. I'm looking to do the same but I'd like to take it in to have it done. I live in the DC area and was wondering if you've found a shop where you go to have work done on your Lotus?

I have an 07 Elise.

Thanks in adavance

I would order 4, that way you can always have left over in case you need to refill.

Quick question. Are these two bottles the same as each other just maybe a newer bottle and label?
