I would try hot-wiring it directly without the resistor pack and see if the blower motor functions properly

thats just the thing though, it was working when i took it apart. so everything works..... just intermittently. could this be a switch issue? even when the blower is not working and the switch is on, I am able to cycle the AC button, making me think that the switch is fine and the issue was down stream some where. but all the blower parts look to be in excellent condition. at a bit of a loss here.

I wasn't able to find the 0.5 ohm so I did some searching and found the resistor pack for $65 on elise parts. Everyone else was asking $150 and up for it. Here's the link if anyone is interested.

Regarding the Resistor Pack Upgrade and Troubleshooting this issue.....
I have a 2005 Elise.
My Blower Fan is not working on ANY speed. Reading this thread, I see Sir Lotus states that "fan speed #3 is a direct path to the blower motor (does not go through Resistor Pack)." Does this mean that if fan speed #3 is not working, then the problem cannot be the Resistor Pack??
Any input appreciated.....

No, while we call it a resistor issue, it is really a connector issue, and the main connector to the resistor pack will burn up leaving no fan at all

Check fuses etc, but it is most likely the resistor pack

you can access the wiring through the access panels and check if there is voltage to the wires going to the resistor pack. If it has voltage there, she must come apart

where is the resistor pack

Before I tear the whole car apart, my 2007 was built in April 2007. Is the resistor pack under the blower motor. These wires look like they go to the blower motor, haven't had a chance to chase them the other direction, but any help on where they lead to if they do go to a relocated resistor pack would be great.

looks like the connector type for the evaporator thermostat. The fan wires go through a rectangular black plug. Chase where they come from

This is one job I will be glad to never do again.

Added 2 feet of cable to the direct motor lines. Will run them up toward the fuse area beneath the upper clam. Just wired for 1 speed now, I can come back and add the aftermarket resistors easily this way though if I want to.
