How to remove flapper box

For some reason I can't find any direction on removing the flapper box that controls air distribution feet, defog, dash. Can somebody point me to a thread about that? I've been searching but can't find much. Looks like two rivets on a bracket need to be drilled out? Does the whole wiper set up need to come out? I figured while I was doing my resistor pack I would try and figure out why the dash noob doesn't seem to do anything. I'm almost ready to just 86 all the climate control crap. Thanks for any help

Well that was fun. So funny hat the stepper motor for the air distribution went bad at the same time as the resistor pack. The hvac system in this car is crap. That's all

You are correct. Except that the whole wiper assembly needs to come out. Bogus.
