This reminds me of the transformation of Porsche when they introduced the 996 design language and Boxter to expand their audience and growth strategy. Many purist Porsche owners including myself bitched about the design and the fact you couldn't tell the Boxter and 911 apart from the front. Well lets fast forward and you canít argue their growth both in sales and brand equity.
I think they are on the right track to increase the brand globally and most importantly anchor their dealer network.
