New Non-Adjustable Dampers: Racetech

We have been working with a local suspension specialist to develop suspension solutions for Lotus. We began our development last Summer and wrapped up this Spring. We have Non-adj, Single and Triple adjustable suspensions. See them: HERE We have put thousands of street and track miles on these Racetechs along with an epic day-long run during WCLM. We hired ride & handling engineer, Dave T to tune the valving and rates. We are very happy with the results as are several clients who have tested my car. Watch this client testimonial from the track last Fall in this video:

These 36mm Non-adjustable Dampers feature valving that splits the difference between the standard Lotus suspension and the Sport valving. We wanted to create a damper that would be a nice replacement for the street guy who wants stock ride heights and improved comfort over the Sport pack. These are ride height adjustable so you can corner balance your car perfectly. Here's a quick video with a car that received these dampers:

The quality is superb and they are Made in the USA. We know that this plays into the decision for some. We still represent Nitron but needed a local solution that was also lower cost to rebuild. These dampers are much easier to rebuild than the Nitrons. Rebuild costs are a hidden cost that many folks don't consider. Another advantage is that they bolt on without needing to change the upper front shock mount.

How do these compare to Nitrons single adjustables, which are $500 less?

Not looking for any track setup. Just get rid of the 4x4 look (‘05 base Elise).

Or is there another option you’d recommend (ie: lowering springs, etc)

The Nitrons are an awesome value. Honestly they are the best for the $. Our Non-Adjustable Racetechs bolt on without having to change the shock mounts and run softer sprig rates. They are also cheaper to rebuild and made in CA. Nitrons are built in Taiwan - to a very high standard.

We just installed another set of Non-Adjustables for a client yesterday. The car is really nice now - its has 120k miles and the stock dampers were overdue and past their prime. See the picture below to see the ride height (132mm front/136mm rear).
