We are finally going into production! (phew). The front was the tough one. Rear was a piece of cake. We just added a small hub pad extension to the mold of our 15.5 lb 17x9 +45 Miata wheel to create a +38 offset. While the +45 worked with a 6mm spacer, the OEM lug bolts aren't long enough. We wanted a full, fire and forget, plug and play fitment for both ends. Now we have it.

This represents the biggest tire and wheel combo you can stuff under this platform without spacers or other mods. The 205/50/15 and 245/40/17 tire maintains diameter stagger close enough to OEM to preserve ABS function and suspension rake. Tires don't rub anywhere at full lock and full bump. Those adding more than 1 camber over OEM in rear might want a 3mm spacer. These are 67.1 hub center. Aluminum hub rings will be optional. The wider wheels better support the tread which improves steering response while allowing lower pressures to be run for improved grip and compliance.

The reason for this entire exercise was to open up the selection of tires in the correct diameters. Now RE71R, BFG Rival-S 1.5 as well as a huge assortment of less gummy models are available. Those two mentioned are cheap and very fast. Wheels are going in to production now. First run of 100 each will be Beryllium as shown in these pics. If response is good, we may do a batch of Charcoal in Q3/18. That is our satin black.
Email us directly to be put on the mailing list for production updates.

Final weights and prices TBD. Should be 12.2/$199 for the front, 15.9 / $259 for the rear. Everything will be locked in when we start taking pre-orders towards the end of November.

You may want to check the Elise. A lot more of them and they are a bit narrow compared to exige ....

Otherwise, nice job!!!

Are the 15" going to clear the 4 piston brakes of 2008?

Yes you, Peewee.

That's one we didn't check. Lots of room to spare with the 2 pot so it might clear. As near as we can tell, there were only a few hundred cars imported with the AP 4 pot so we didn't focus on it. If anyone here has a 4 pot car near Lake Forest, CA, drop by for a test fit.

I know you don't have testing, but off the top of your head for maximum track laptimes, would you recommend a 205/225 setup, a 205/245 setup, or a 225/245 setup?

205/245 for track. You can shoehorn 225/45's onto the front for autocross but clearance is tight.

949, have you fitted the 15s with the AP four pot brake? Thanks.

Can soneone just buy the 17x9 or you only sell a complete set?

Yes you, Peewee.

Is there any reason why we wouldn't be able to run 15's on both front and rear?

Phil is the expert here, but I did some measuring over the weekend through the entirety of the suspension travel and I think 15x9 would fit if you ziptie the handbrake cable to the control arm and space out to at least +25. Note that at +25, it's tight in there. Also, make sure to check the entirety of your suspension travel as there's less room between the wheels and A-arms at full compression than there is at full droop.

Also, 949 generally sells wheels individually and I would assume that's what they're doing here too. Good thing too, because I'm messing around with some plans...

Blackwatch Racing will be the exclusive distributor for the 6UL Lotus fitment we developed. They are taking pre orders for the 1st batch which is in transit now.
