Hi xxxxxxxxxx,

That project has been pushed back further. No ETA at this stage but we hope to have wheels by Q1 /13

I talked to 949 today as well... I'm guess Q1 2013 is optimistic by the sounds of things. Sad because I was really holding out for these...

Instead I called up Fred at BWR and ordered couple sets 17x9 Team Dynamics wheels for the rear with a wider offset to house the larger Goodyear slicks... A little heavier than I want, but fortunately, the GY tires are about a 1lb lighter than the kooks in the rear and almost 2lbs less in the front depsite being much larger tires

No, they won't fit without trimming and/or flares--- and still may rub a tad on some corners... Is that what they meant when they say "rubbing is racing"?

Last I talked to them, 949 isn't planning on doing a bespoke Lotus setup anymore.

They're back ordered on the 15x7 and 8s until late March as it is.

Here's what you can do. Get 15x8s for all 4 corners. They're a +36 offset, so they're plug and play in the rear. On the front, you'll need a 6mm spacer for stock tire centerline and a 10mm spacer will work as well. BWR sells spacers...

Best,

Phil

I need templates to load into CAD. pdf is good. If no template is available, I need to make a physical template, sort of a big go/no-go gauge. That gets scanned here and turned into a path we can put into CAD. We have a tool we're developing for another application that could work perfectly for this chassis.

Making a template is about 45 minutes with some sheet metal trimmers and a small piece of .060 ABS, and a car.

An offline user was able to send us the pdfs for both the base and AP 4 pot factory option brakes. Much thanks!

ditto

I'd sign up right now if a 16 or 17" (especially a 17 since 4x100 bolt pattern is scarce in that size) can be made available for our rears along with the already current 15" options for the front.

but they have to be within the typical 6ul price range... because that's what makes them a real player over something like the rpf1/pf01/RAC/te37/ce28/TD/ect

please do this 949!!!! & if the main hurdle is a possible lack of interest to make a worthwhile production run, then start a legit price/size feeler thread & I can promise you will get solid interest from this community

If they are comparable pricing, I am ready to purchase! I'm currently running a square 15" set up and I am running into gearing issues on long autoX courses and some straights on tracks.

yup, its the reason I haven't gone with 15's all the way around... the gearing/revs when cruising to an event are certainly not ideal when dropping 2 inches of diameter in the rear

We're making another batch of Lotus hub centering 1" wheel spacers. They work great with 9 and 10" wheels that have ~25mm offset. We use ARP studs on the spacers and ARP bolts to fastener the spacers to the hubs. Made from 7075. VERY NICE parts.

These allow you to run all the popular wide Miata wheels like the 949, Konig, etc...

A small flare or wide body kit is needed to cover the tires--- if covering the tires is your thing
