California Yes on Prop 6 if you are a car nut

Voting yes on prop 6 undoes Jerry Brown's gas tax and car registration increase Sacramento snuck in on us last year. Jerry Brown is at war with cars and wants to see us all taking the bus or riding bird scooters. Voting yes will repeal the new gas tax and registration increase and force a constitutional amendment requiring such increases to go to the Voters.

We already paid one of the highest gas taxes in the country ( Hawaii might be higher ? ) and now it has gone up again to pay for government pensions, bike paths, road diets and busses, NOT repairing the roads as they claim. If Jerry gets his way and this is defeated you can bank on them trying to sneak more increases in and passing more anti-car initiatives. Also there is talk of him ( or Gavin ) trying to repeal Prop 13 if he defeats this prop, which would mean no fixed property tax anymore ! Even more of a pisser is they are using tax money to run No on 6 adds and Caltrans has been caught setting up check points to hand out No on 6 pamphlets.

I'm not in California but Ontario seems to have the same mentality. They collect a lot of gas tax that gets diverted to purposes other than roads. Then the politicians claim the roads are too expensive to maintain.

Certainly one of my pet peeves.

Yep that describes California for the past 20 years, they grab the tax and it goes to the general fund not repairing roads or improving freeways or bridges. I think an investigation this year found that around %20 goes to "transportation improvement " Which translates to painting bike lane stripes and paying bus drivers, Caltrans workers $100,000 a year with full pensions. Our roads and bridges have been crumbling for years. And then they snuck a tax increase and registration fee in on us without mentioning it.

Forgot to mention Yes on 6 also forces the money to be spent on road repair and improvements

NO TO MOONBEAM. Idiot thinks he can dump a tax and fee increase without people's say so. DO NOT VOTE FOR DIMMS.

When the repeal passes, they better drop the prices on gas and registration immediately. I've got 3 cars to pay for after the election.

The key is to get the Yes on 6 word out to all the car forums and clubs. Sacramento pulled a fast one and at the last second renamed the Prop to make it seem very negative and dangerous. In reality it is vote for Yes to repeal their bogus money grab and make it a law that voters must approve such increases in the future.
If you have a second and are in several other car forums please post the links at the top and make sure they understand to Vote Yes not No. Recent polls show that when people were asked if they want to repeal the gas tax Prop 6 wins by close to %60. If they are polled and asked using the title Sacramento gave the Prop it loses by a fair margin . I am posting in the Tiger, Volvo, and Touareg forums as well. Prop 6 is a true grass roots effort not being funded by any special interests or industries.

I can't believe there are still 40% out there that would pay the increases. It's just amazing. Especially considering the bond measures that were approved prior elections for the same sh*t.
