Why Valet Parking is Bad for your Car

A bystander who saw the incident unfold, said "the car ran into the orange car and then wedged itself under it. Then they kind of ran it into another white car which hit some bollards," he said. "It didn't make a big noise, just the odd crunch here and there."

I tell Valets that I want to park my Lotus myself.

I point out all the interest/business the establishment will generate if I can park my cool car right by the entrance....

They let me park the car out front.

But, they make use the rear entrance....

I dont valet after knowing friends who parked the cars a few years ago. Back in college, some of my friends were valet drivers in a posh hotel here in South Beach and I heard many stories of them racing the Ferraris, AMGs and Porsches against each other. One of them jumped a curb drifting an STi. no thanks. The service was even equipped with rubbing compound for minor things just in case. Since then I always ask to park my car, keep my keys and leave them my number in case they need me to move it.
