Another tire recomendation thread

Currently I have Yoko Advans A048s on my Elise. The rears are about gone. I could buy a set of the same rears and keep the same thing going. The fronts are probably six years old and have a few track days. Most of my driving is highway and spirited mountain twisties. Three to four track days a year. What would you do? Currently I am running:

Yoko 255/45R17 90W LTS ADVAN AO48 rears
Yoko 195/50R16 84W LTS ADVAN AO48 fronts

I am thinking that changing all would be best and I would probably get more miles for the money. I am open for suggestions. Thanks!

With the fronts that old and how you use the car, best to change them all at the same time.

Sounds like Toyo R888 would work well, compared to the 048- cheaper, last a little longer and with softer sidewalls a better ride, plus for track duty they do not heat-cycle out like the 048.

With the fronts being older, I was thinking about replacing all four. I know Star Specs were praised for a while, that is kind of why I was asking what people think. I would like to get input from people who have used other tires. By the way, they are on LSS wheels. It also seems like the rears cant be found at the current size 255/45R17. What size would you go to?

You've been on the fronts (A048s) for 6 years with track days and "spirited" mountain twisties? That doesn't sound possible. I think your definition of track and "spirited" driving differs greatly from mine.
