"Custom" Splitter

Why would a thread titled "'Custom' Splitter" be in the suspension section? Well, turns out my '05 Elise (LSS) dives wayyy too much under braking and decided to obliterate the fiberglass splitter.

I've never heard of this issues, and I am not seeing, hearing, or feeling any slop in the suspension. This was on track and under heavy braking at 100mph in a couple places, and the car was handling great other than the typical understeer. It wore down very symmetrically, too, so I'd suspect a bad bushing, link, or whatnot to be more apparent on one side than another. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I know these splitters are common and same for the LSS, but I've not heard of this before. The car has just shy of 60k miles, so bad dampers are a possibility, but even that seems to be a bit of a stretch. It's the best I've been able to come up with yet other than .
