Beware LotusGarage, Recommended Alternatives?

Iíve ordered parts from twice now, and I dont think Iím willing to place any future orders through them. The first time, parts were shipped (just shipped, not yet received) 2 months after the order was placed. The second and current time, it has now been 1.5 months without anything being shipped, after receiving two separate statements during the first month that parts would be shipping in the next few days. Theyíve also failed to respond to inquiries into the status of the order for 2 weeks now.

Going forward, Iím curious if anyone has had better luck with other OEM lotus part vendors. Itís a shame because while I like the Lotus Garage website setup, which makes it easy to know Iím ordering the right part, Iím not willing to subject myself to such poor timelines and customer service going forward.

Thanks in advance!

I typically email/call lotus parts vendors first to see if they have it in stock before placing an order. That includes overseas dealers/vendors.
I think most of them don't have a lot of parts in stock, which is understandable given limited amount of Lotus vehicles out there compared to millions of cars from other makes. Hell, I think my local Lotus dealer only placed orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Sometimes parts are backorderered, and in rare cases, it's not unheard of to take 4+ months.
It's just the way things are with these cars, imho.

Lots of people have had decent experience with lotusgarage, including myself. While waiting that long is certainly ****ty and they could improve communication, you also probably have to dial down your expectation to keep your sanity.

Some of the vendors I've used, including non-dealer/stock parts.
Elise Shop, Performance parts for your Lotus Elise
Lotus Elise, Exige, 2-Eleven Parts & Tuning - Hangar 111

and there's the obvious ones like inokinetic, monekywrench, boe, bwr, etc.
I hear Gator Motorsports is pretty good, too.
And there's always ebay.

Good luck~

EDIT: oh, I see you're in the Bay Area. Rob Dietsch sometimes have parts.

I've bought parts from them several times before. They are trust worthy but things do take time due to backorders from Lotus themselves.

As an FYI....Robert was getting his son ready for college as well as training someone to take over the business, so things are a little slower than usual. I recently just got a part from them a couple weeks ago. They are a good company and I have never seen much complaints, only about wait times but they do come through.

I got my order pretty quickly (touch up paint), but their communication could be better. I just got an email from them with my tracking #, but I got the package 3 weeks earlier. lol

They are vendors on this site, which means you can send them a PM from here.

looks like Lotus is catching up on the back orders and in turn LotusGarage can catch up. Last week I received an order I had been waiting on for several weeks and today I got my tracking # for an order I placed 4 days ago.
