Talking Wednesday, Oct.7 Galpin Lotus Van Nuys officially open - Lotus sales/warranty service

I was driving home from work a few minutes ago and received a call from Joe Van De Verre at Galpin Lotus in Van Nuys, California.

He told me that it's official -- they are finally open as of today -- ready to sell Lotus cars and perform Lotus warranty service.

This means there are now three Lotus dealers in the L.A. area, Newport Lotus down south, Thousand Oaks Lotus up north, and now Galpin Lotus in between.

Galpin really wants to have a strong relationship with Lotus Talk members.

Joe told me that they are going to have a grand opening party and are inviting all Lotus Talk members and Lotus/sports car owners in the Southland. He said that he would call me soon with the date and time, hopefully on a Saturday or Sunday.

For many Lotus owners in Los Angeles, this is a huge sigh of relief.

The direct line to Joe's desk is 818-922-3644 and is the fastest way to get through to the new Lotus division there.

Also - the direct line to their Lotus Service Writer (John Alavazo - a very good guy) is 818-922-3623.

I will post again soon.

+1. Awesome! This is exciting.

BTW, I think they need to make a little correction on their website.

Evolve, Evora and Elise?

I just dropped by the parts counter to day and ordered a new door/roof seal and some wheel arch liner fasteners. First Class operation. 5 cars in stock, two were standard Elises which may age a bit in inventory when everyone else has Purist editions similarly equipped or $10k less, although one of them is Isotope Green. They also had an S260 which you really have to see in person.

Maybe they spilled the beans about a new "secret" Lotus??

Galpin Lotus has a Lotus parts counter.

Haven't seen one of those for a while.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thanks for the update, Larry.

I wanted to get some warranty work done and this info definitely helps. Is there a recommend dealer to go to concerning the service, work and etc. Does one dealer have better techs than the others? Thanks for the help!

Hello again folks! Yes it's true. We're finally open. DMV doesn't just move slowly behind the counter, it would seem!

Very excited about this - I can finally take people on test drives. New Evora on the way.

And we're the first dealer to show the all-new Evolve. You guys hadn't heard? It's actually the "Evolve-Xr."

Kidding. I've been told that it's been fixed.

Be well, stop on by for a chat, and stay tuned for our Grand Opening news!

Just dug up this hella old post. We've owned that Isotope Green Elise since 2011. It was in fact Pimped by the Galpin Autp sports team with custom stripes and powdercoated stock rims. I believe it looked a little too green M&M with its hardtop, so they gave it some tasteful character

Mechanical sympathy makes us better mechanics and better owners. Ducati dry clutches .... I just don't get it.
