2006 Lotus Sport Elise #48/50 (really #1!)

For Sale: 2006 Sport Elise #48/50. Under 20,000 California miles. Serviced by LotusTalk Harry/A1. All original which is crucial for a special edition. This car was badged #48 of 50 but actually was the FIRST of the 50 special editions worldwide in 2006 and confirmed by Lotus (by VIN number it is the first built of the 50). The car was used by Lotus North America for all the national automotive magazine reviews and was featured in numerous printed articles including Autoweek and Car and Driver ( I can send copies of the articles). Perfect condition. Both tops immaculate. Interior spotless. The unique Sport Elise features and paint scheme make this a collectible Elise.
Price: $50,000. Location: Los Angeles area. Happy to answer specific questions. The F-16 is not included!

I saw this car listed at $25k yesterday and it's sold now. What happened in 5 months since you sold it....? https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/55862982

Carsforsale.com ads like that are scams. The “sellers” use pictures from other sales listings like this one and then post as if they are selling as their own. If you look, you will find other examples also priced around $25k. I came across an isotope green Elise for sale a while back that also appeared to be a scam. It was subsequently listed as ”sold” after I expressed initial interest, then came back weeks later as being sold by another seller in another state, but with the same pics and same price ($25k). Interestingly, if you click through to the selling “dealers” website, you may find the car listed as also being in their inventory. No idea if they just hijack legitimate dealer’s websites, but that seems to be what happened with the isotope green one I found.

I am sure if they “hook” you they will ask/require that a deposit or payment be sent to start/secure a deal. Long story short, if it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. Hope these fake posts don’t deflate listing or transaction prices for legitimate sales.
