Sadly, the time has come. We're about to start a family and one of my prized possessions has to go to make room for a more practical car. I'm selling a 2011 Lotus Elise R with Canyon Red/Magnolia. This is 1 of 77 Elise Rs imported in 2011, and 1 of 1 in this color and specification. This is the only Elise in the country like this. I bought this last summer from Lotus of Austin, TX. The previous owner tracked this car and was also on the Lotus board here. He sold this car for an Evora. I have been an Elise owner for 5 years now, having had a 2005 Elise from 2015-2018. That being said, I know these cars well and this is the nicest street example of an Elise I've seen. This car has absolutely no issues and needs nothing. It is in better shape than when I got it one year ago. The option packages added some things that truly make this a one off car. In 2011, the sport pack added with the black pack got you the 2011 Exige 260 RGB edition split Y spoke forged wheels (extremely rare!), black diffuser, and Exige sport seats upholstered in your leather color instead of just black leather or Alcantara.
Things that have been added or fixed by myself or the previous owner:
35w 5500k HID bulbs with waterproofed Denso Lexus ballasts
Sanded and clear-coated front headlights (they were peeling and fogged)
Inokinetic Ultradiscs rotors
EBC redstuff brake pads
Full front clip, rocker panels, and rear arch Suntek PPF
Full paint correction with CQuartz ceramic coating
K&N Apollo air intake
Inokinetic Sonic Fury exhaust
Aluminum turn stalks
Aluminum carpet buttons
Carbon fiber door sills protected with Suntek PPF
Toyo Proxes R888 tires
Harness bar with 4 point racing harnesses
New aluminum OEM shift knob
Lotus Forged wheels powder coated Silver
This car is in excellent condition, especially for an 8 year old car which was previously tracked. The paint is 9/10, looks excellent. Interior is 8/10, as the light colored interior had several worn spots in the dye from the previous owner. I have Magnolia leather dye and have repaired these, but it is not a perfect match. The dye needs to be lightened a bit. This is a water based dye and is easily removed for reapplication. The interior is in excellent shape as well. The car drives perfectly and needs nothing. The shift quality is noticeably improved over my old 2005, so I believe this is one of the better shifting cars that left the factory. The K&N intake paired with the Inokinetic exhaust sounds incredible. The A/C is cold, again much improved over the earlier cars. If the roof is on and windows are up, the A/C can keep you comfortably cool on days of 95+ degrees. The only story this car has just happened two months ago. During a road rally, the car died and refused to restart. It was towed to Carlock Motorsports in Nashville, TN. They are a Lotus dealership, TJ being the Lotus tech that recently moved from Gator Motorsports. He is considered one of the foremost Lotus techs in the nation. The car had a faulty ECU, this was replaced with a brand new unit and it has run perfectly since.
The above pictures are from 2 months ago. I'll shortly be posting some new pictures, but cannot yet as we're getting hit by tropical storm Barry and the weather is terrible. That being said, here's a 10 minute walkthrough of the car with my annoying voice:
My name is Will, and I can be reached at willthayden at gmail.com or at (seven three one) three four three - zero eight eight six. Thanks for the interest!
