SSR Type-F Wheels Matte Black. 16x7 +32 & 17x9 +35. RARE!

SSR Type-F wheels are a line discontinued across the board. They are even rarer to see on an Elise/Exige. I have a set off a car I am selling. The wheels are already off the car and tires dismounted.

Asking $2000. This is a great price for a great looking rare wheel made in Japan.

I can post more pictures if need be.

https://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f94/...spired-438329/ Pictures of the spokey wheels, not the 5 spoke ones.

Not the clearest pics, but that's all I could find on my phone. I can take pics of the individual wheels.

I'd suggest you'd post clear pictures of the items for sale. People want to see what they're buying, especially the condition of what they're buying. GLWS.

I agree gentlemen. It is just hard to capture details of black wheels on a camera phone (prob taken with an iphone 5 at the time.) I had to ask my brother what pics he had on his phone. He is more of a picture taker than I am. Keep in mind these pics are a few years old. I haven't ran these wheels in about 1-2 years.

They are currently in storage. I believe there are tires on them (made a mistake with earlier assumptions) but I can dismount them no problem.

*One wheel does have a slight curb about the size of a quarter on the very edge. I will need to pull them out of storage and take more pics. Just wanted to see if there was any genuine interest before I waste my time.

I think these are great looking high-quality wheels for the Exige. The rear wheels have a nice concave look to them for an exotic appeal. These are very light.. lighter than the Hethels I currently have on the car. If I wasn't planning on selling the car, these wouldn't be up for sale.

I ran this with no spacers. Could probably use a 5-10mm spacer up front if you want a more aggressive look.

Are the rears 17x7.5 or the 17x9 they had for awhile?

17x9 for sure. When it first released, there was discussion if the wheels would fit. I took one for the team and it worked. I am probably the first or second person to give it a go. They didn't have many available at the time in Lotus sizes and now Type-F's are completely discontinued. I was told it was discontinued because the manufacturing process for the Type-F line was too expensive at the price points they were targeting. A truely rare wheel set for the Lotus community.

And only the 17x9's are concave. That's a dead giveaway. I believe they had a 17x8 (non concave).

Are the rears ET 35 or ET 25? If I remember correctly they were offering the 17x9 with a 25 offset. Do they rub under cornering or bumps?

You're absolutely correct. I just checked my emails and the rears are a 17x9 +25. They are the euro version , which was not readily offered matte black. Only polished silver. I had mine custom ordered in matte black (rears only) through SSR Japan. They also had a 17x8 +35, which was not concave. Got my numbers mixed up.

I have about 2 degrees of camber and ran a 245 tire. Might rub a little on hard cornering, but my car is low to begin with. Other than that, it was fine. Never damaged the clam. I am skeptical if a 255 will work, but I have not tried it.

Pretty damn close to flawless if they are 17x9 +25. You'd have a bit more room to fit certain 255's if they were +32, but you'd lose a little concave. Running a standard 245 should be no problem with +25.

Just needs the fronts to be 17x8 +25 to match, 16" is so 1985...

Just did an alignment. Rear has 3.5 degrees camber w/ 245 tire.

I think the highest is 3.6 or 3.7 degrees.

It can probably get away with a 2.5-3 degree negative camber, but I just didn't want to take any chances with the car being up for sale.
