Greetings to all our fellow Lotus owners and enthusiasts!

We are two and a half months away from The Lotus Owners Gathering 36 (LOG36) in Princeton, New Jersey August 5th thru 7th and do we have a great weekend planned for everyone who participates.

The LOG36 planning committee continues to come up with all sorts of creative ideas for this LOG and we are excited about everything we have planned.

A very important date to be aware of is MAY 20th! It's the last day for early registration and you will save $25 for registering now. After a postmark of May 20 it will cost you $125 to register. Don't delay, get your registration in the mail today.

More importantly, early registration has privileges this year. Saturday night banquet seating selection and early entry into Grounds for Sculpture Sunday morning will be based on post mark dates of registration.

Another important consideration is the booking of your hotel rooms. We are very close to selling out Friday and Saturday night and so far we have more than 200 people who are arriving on Thursday night. Looks like LOG36 will have an early start! Don't delay on securing your hotel room at the Princeton Marriott Forrestal.

In case your a late planner or just can't commit, we do have an overflow hotel down the street (Westin Hotel) but remember, registration goes up to $175 after June 17th.

We expect this LOG to have significant participation. You may never see this many Lotus' in one place again!

Keep up to date on all the most recent news and information by checking the LOG36 web site on a regular basis.

Join us, we are looking forward to a wonderful weekend with all our Lotus friends.

May 20 deadline is now past. Next deadline before price hike is June 17 when the registration fee increases to $175 from the current $125 (and the original $100).

Even at that price the cost is a bargain. The number of special guests and things to see and do is exceptional. Make a vacation of it. The number of people arriving early is huge. There should even be a significant contingent of Lotus people on Wednesday!

I registered by mail some time ago, and my check was cashed some time ago, but have not received any confirmation materials. Should I have received something, or not yet?

Duncan,

It does take a while. I joined Lotus LTD a few weeks ago, just to attend LOG 36 which is about 25 miles from our home. It was about 10 days before I received the information-member packet in the mail.

I didn't get any LOG stuff yet either, and I was one of the first ones registered.

Don't worry you'll get the confirmation. If you are concerned, send Cora an email at

[email protected]

and she will confirm.

IIRC confirmations LOG packages come a couple/three weeks before, actually.

After all, some folks come from long distances and do some 'touring' before actually arriving in Princeton.

Who remembers the Maine Elise owner who drove through 40 states enroute to LOG ?

Disappointed that there won't be an auto slalom.
We will be at the Watkins Glen lapping day.
Dad ('66 Lotus Cortina) and I have decided not to come down since there is no driving competition

Remember that registering for the Convention and registering for a Hotel are not the same thing. You can do one without the other, and the two entities will not report to the other about you.

What? No autocross? Really?

I might as well bring my Subaru.

I guess you can't hold an automotive timed event, or even a HPDE in NJ without police presence. I was told that was one of the major issues with even holding a simple autocross event in a local parking lot....

You say that like it's a bad thing. My BRZ has been pictured in ReMarque... three times, I think. At least two. I think three. I showed up at my first LOG back in 2000 in my old Dodge Daytona since my Elan had just burnt its valves. Whatever you gotta do.

I wouldn't mind doing an autocross - I did the at the last LOG I attended (Corning 2013) and did the track day the year before at Sebring, but there's still plenty of fun to be had.

I do remember the Cortina at the autocross in Corning; I assume it's the same car - very pretty, sorry to hear that we won't be seeing it this year.

So the entry to the actual LOG venue must be done through mailing a check, correct? I would assume the annual membership is also required?

Just want to ensure I have everything in order.

Yes, yes and yes.

1) You must be a member of Lotus Ltd. (And you get the very cool ReMarque magazine with the membership)

2) You must register for LOG36 with a separate registration form and choose the items you want (see the LOG 36 website for a copy of the form). You need to fill out the document and send in with a personal check.

3) you must make your own hotel reservations at the host hotel, Marriott FORRESTAL Princeton. (Info on the LOG36 website). There are still a few rooms left as of last night.

The reason no track or Autocross this year is the two local tracks didn't have availability (We started planning more than a year out). All Motorsports events in NJ are under the ruling of the NJ State Police. The Autocross locations that are approved are limited and none had a scheduled event during the dates of LOG. Never the less, LOG is always a blast. I even flew to CO last year for LOG35 and had a great time without a Lotus.

There is a Lotus track event before LOG at Watkins Glen on June 22, 2016.

Please see the LOG36 website for all updates. We update weekly to keep everyone informed.
