One of the best restaurants in Princeton is The Peacock Inn. Reservations absolutely required. You don't need a jacket, just a collared shirt. Next is Agricola which is more relaxed, farm to table and nice environment. Something a bit more casual but fun and in the middle of Princeton is Witherspoon Grille. Then there is Mediterra which has a great location but the menue is a bit ecelectic so make sure the food is to your liking.

Sun on Friday and Sunday with 40% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. Let's not second guess Mother Nature yet ;-) Still time for the weather to change to more sun!

What happens to the concourse on Saturday and the group photo if we get rained out? I was going to bring my S1 Exige down if nothing else but for the group photo/concourse....

A LOG tradition: Wear your Home Club's polo or collared shirt at the Friday Night Reception.

A group of us will be wearing our shirts from the now-defunct LEO club (Lotus Enthusiast's Organization, NYC/NJ Area)!

Please, wash them first, LOL!

Good to know. Completely forgot about checking the weather. I'll check it right before we leave on Thursday.

Thanks for the tips, Certified Lotus. I'm still checking. I'm a pain for fine dining as my tastes are a bit more simple than my wife's, gotta make sure I can find something to eat. I did dig out my old "Manifold Destiny" cookbook; I'm thinking about doing a little engine-compartment cooking for our drive on Thursday.

The weather forecast is improving - it's down to a ~24% chance of a thunderstorm from 9am-2pm, up to 47% from 2-3. So hopefully if we do get something, it won't last long.

The weather report for Friday - Sunday three LOG days is about as good as it gets here in the summer. Weather forecasting is as much an art as it is a science.

The current NWS forecast for Washington Crossing, Pa., where the Concours is being held, as follows: National Weather Service

Weather Underground which is a very good site, shows a 50% chance of a thunderstorm at the Concours site on Saturday, with an estimated accumulation of .06 inches! If it does happen, forecast to be a quick "blow and go", over before you know it. See: https://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:18977.1.99999

Of course there is a reason it is called a forecast. One definite. It is a very good thing that LOG 36 was not scheduled over last Friday - Sunday. The area was under a flood watch for most of the weekend. I live only 14 miles from Princeton and we must have received between 4 and 5 inches of rain.

nicely done Rick.

BTW, the Concours is a "rain or shine" event.

Suggest all bring poncho/umbrella or whatever.

time to pray to the weather gods...............

Friday

A group of us will be heading to LOG on Friday, from Western NY. We expect to be in Scranton/Wilkes Barre area around noon.

Anyone else in the area interested in joining up?

Also, looking for suggestions on a place for lunch in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area.

Can't help you with an eatery, but if you stop in Wilkes-Barre I encourage you to re-join the PA Turnpike via Laurel Run Rd.

This road brings back fond memories of the Giant's Despair Hillclimb.

People are starting to arrive. There were 3 Lotus in the parking lot when I arrived. Immediately after I checked in an Exige and Elan pulled in together. The LOG co-chairs are already hard at work moving piles of goodies into the secret workshop.

Was just thinking yesterday about 2 things (not eateries) in Scranton area that I really liked:

Anthracite (or anthrax) Museum: Go down into a coal mine & wonder if there was a worse job.

Steam town: Collection of steam railroad trains, with rides.

That's the jersey side, the LOG concours will be on the PA side

1112 River Road Washington Crossing, PA 18977

This is the information center, the concours site is across the road in the park field

The directions are on the app and there will be printed directions available in the lobby.

The wife is from up that way and gave these Wilkes Barre suggestions

The Arena Bar and Grill is off 81 and a couple of exits up from the turnpike. Arena Bar and Grill Home Page

Isabella's Isabella Restaurant and Bar

The Cafe: An American Bistro cafe315

The Mohegan Sun Wilkes Barre is a short hop the turnpike so is easy if you want a selection and something easy to get to.

The Shoppes at Montage also have a selection

For those officially registered and staying at the Marriott, how are parking spots allocated? Is there adequate space between each vehicle and security patrolling the area at night?
